Our Investment Thesis
Potencia Ventures invests in initiatives, funds, and early-stage ventures that serve lower-income people. Our primary sectors are education and employability with a geographic focus on Latin America and India.
Potencia supports companies that increase access to education and improve learning outcomes for lower-income people. We are interested in a broad range of applications, from early childhood to formal schooling to vocational education, and lifelong learning.
Potencia supports companies that develop human potential to build stronger, more vibrant local economies in countries where there are persistent vacancies in professional or skilled positions. This includes companies that better prepare people for more rewarding jobs and/or companies that connect lower-income populations to job opportunities.
What we look for in companies
Potencia Ventures invests in early-stage companies that have high impact on lower-income populations. We aim to be a strong, flexible, and responsive partner to entrepreneurs and their management teams and to provide companies with the support and resources to help them realize sustainable social and financial impact. Potencia is often a first external investor in companies with innovative business models and talented founders who are committed to building companies with purpose.
- Impact - We look for companies that offer scalable, affordable, high quality products and services for lower-income populations.
- Geography - We invest in companies in Latin America and India or companies who serve customers in these regions.
